Linville Ridge Country Club is a subdivision private course for the members of the Linville Ridge resort subdivision, designed for cart golf. The course is well maintained and with reasonably designed holes given the mountain terrain. However, you would not mistake it for anything other than a mountain course. This mountainous course, elevations reach 4,945 feet on the fourth hole, is the highest course east of the Mississippi. It was carved out of the natural terrain and has fairly wide-open fairways. The heavily-undulating greens are large, and water hazards come into play on five holes. The signature hole is #11, a 389-yard, par 4, located at the highest point on the course and overlooking Grandfather Mountain.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,746 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,020 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 10, a par-5 that plays to 581 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 5, a par-3 that plays to 177 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, a 400 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Linville Ridge is # 12, a 205 yard par-3.
